History of Maple Ridge

On 12th September 1874, Maple Ridge was incorporated as a district municipality with an area coverage of 130 km. This city is the 5th oldest municipality in British Columbia after Victoria, Langley, New Westminster, Chilliwack, and Victoria. The town has not only been used in filming movies but produced Hollywood stars, e.g., Molly Walker (Actress who featured in Six Feet Under movie as well as Deadwood movie). Some scenes from Twilight movie were shot from this town. Additionally, A-Team, Happy Gilmore, Jumanji and 3000 Miles to Greenland were all filmed in different locations in Maple Ridge town.
